MATTRESSES & BOX SPRINGS

Effective October 20, 2009, the Town of Burrillville stopped the curbside pick-up of mattresses & box springs.

Mattresses & box springs are recyclable, but when they are collected curbside, they are processed as trash. This results in an additional cost to the taxpayers, and also has a negative impact on the environment.

DISPOSING OF MATTRESSES & BOX SPRINGS

Many furniture companies will offer to remove your old mattress and box spring when they deliver your new one. If this was not an option, residents can bring mattresses, box springs & futon mattresses to the Whipple Ave. Recycling & Compost Facility during normal hours of operation. There is NO FEE to dispose of mattresses and box springs at the Recycling Facility.
