Yard Waste

Ideally, all yard waste should be composted.  Compostable material is any vegetative matter such as grass clippings, leaves, tree, shrub, and bush trimmings, tree branches, garden trimmings, plants, flowers, and any other plant matter.

The Town of Burrillville does not collect compostable material at curbside.  If compostable material is found in bags or cans, IT WILL NOT BE COLLECTED.

Residents may drop off their compostable material at the Whipple Ave. Compost Facility during normal hours of operation.

All brush and tree limbs must be LESS THAN FOUR (4) INCHES IN DIAMETER and NO MORE THAN FIVE (5) FEET IN LENGTH.

LOGS, STUMPS, CUT FIRE WOOD, PLANKS, OR CONSTRUCTION WOOD IS NOT ACCEPTED AT THE WHIPPLE AVE. COMPOST FACILITY.

Leaves and other compostable material will be accepted loose or in paper bags.
Materials in PLASTIC BAGS WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED.
