Furniture & Bulky Waste

Large/Bulky Items
Residents are allowed to dispose of ONE large/bulky item such as furniture, sofa, rug, carpet, etc.. each week. This item may be placed curbside with your weekly trash and recyclables. Please remember to keep your recycling bin out until all of your trash (including the bulky item) has been collected. You DO NOT need to schedule an appointment to have a bulky item picked up.
Rugs and carpets must be cut into 4 ft lengths, rolled and stacked neatly alongside your regular trash. Bulky items that are made of metal or rigid plastic WILL NOT be picked up curbside because these items are recyclable. Please bring these items to the Whipple Ave Recycling & Compost Facility.
For special circumstances, such as home renovations or residents who are relocating and are generating larger amounts of trash, you must call a private waste hauler. Please click here for a listing of private waste haulers. Construction & Demolition Waste from home renovations is NOT considered Bulky Waste. Please dispose of Construction & Demolition Waste by bringing it to RIRRC in Johnston or by contacting a private waste hauler.
The Town of Burrillville encourages all residents to donate used household items and furniture to charity organizations. Most charity organizations will pick up donated items that are in good condition.
