**  The Town’s Compost Facility is open Wednesdays and Saturdays from 9:00 am to 1:00 pm during the months of April, May, September, October and November.  During the months of June, July and August the Compost Facility is open each Wednesday and the 2nd and 4th Saturdays from 9:00 am to 1:00 pm.  During the months of December, January, February and March residents must make appointments with the Department of Public Works.  The Department of Public Works is open 6:30 am to 3:00 pm Monday through Friday and can be contacted at 568-4440.

During normal scheduled weekly waste collections, residents are allowed to place up to five bags or barrels of waste and one large bulky item such as a chair, mattress & box-spring, carpet/rug or non-appliance type furniture curbside.  Carpets and rugs must be cut in 4-ft. lengths, rolled and stacked orderly by the curb.

The Town urges all residents do their part in ensuring waste is disposed of properly and not left at curbside for extended periods of time.  The Town also asks that residents do their part to recycle as much of their solid waste as possible.

FACT:  The more Burrillville recycles the less tax dollars that are spent on waste disposal.

If you need special assistance, please contact the Department of Public Works at 568-4440.
